Attempted murder charge laid in homicide case

The Weyburn Police Service has laid an additional charge against Keegan Riley Muxlow, in the homicide-home invasion case.

As a result of the continuing investigation into the Jan. 4th murder, new information has come to light resulting in Muxlow now also being charged with one count of attempted murder.

Weyburn police investigators arrested Muxlow on Monday from the Correctional Centre and processed him on this charge. He was remanded to appear in Weyburn court on Tuesday.

The name of the victim will not be released.

Muxlow is facing a number of charges from the violent home invasion in which Nathan Hutt was fatally injured, later dying of his injuries in hospital.

The charges include second-degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of an offence, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a valid licence.

The two other men charged from this incident, Dominick Hawkes and William N. McLeod, will be appearing in court on Feb. 12 on their charges, which include break-and-enter and committing assault, wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, possession of a firearm without a valid licence, and Hawkes has an additional charge of possession of cocaine.
