Dakota Bowler has committed to play women’s hockey with the Warriors at Indiana Tech University, an American Collegiate Hockey Division One school for the 2021-2022 season as a student-athlete, starting in August.

Bowler is an alumnus of the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings, as she has played with the local female hockey team for four years. Bowler said, “I am excited about this opportunity that I have been given to be able to go further as a student and as a hockey player. It will be a great experience.”

“It is definitely going to be fun. Scott Hicks, the head coach, has a very impressive resume when it comes to coaching women’s hockey and I have a lot of respect for him. I think that under his coaching experience I will grow more as a player. I have been working hard these past couple of years on and off the ice. I was lucky to be able to have people around me that have been encouraging and pushed me harder. I’m very thankful for that.”

Bowler plans to attend school for four years, with hockey eligibility of five, pursuing a career in criminal justice.
