Government Relations Minister Warren Kaeding has annouced that Weyburn's Chief of Police, Marlo Pritchard, will be taking on a new role of President of the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency come September of this year.

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency was created in 2017 as a Treasury Board Crown that manages Saskatchewan's 911 emergency call-taking and dispatching services.

The agency was expanded in January of this year to include the Emergency Management and Fire Safety branch from the Ministry of Government Relations, as well as the Wildfire Management branch from the Ministry of Enviroment.

"Enhanced and improved citizen service is the goal of this agency, and I'm confident that this will be achieved under Marlo's leadership," said Kaeding in a written press release by the provincial government. " He has a proven track record within the public safety sector, and will make sure that the safety needs of Saskatchewan's people continue to be met through effectively coordinated and delivered programs and services."
