The Weyburn Young Fellows Club opened their Christmas tree lot on Saturday, by the club’s shack behind the Prairie Sky Co-op’s food store on Second Street.

A Weyburn couple, Dean and Pam Altwasser, were one of their customers on Saturday, helped out by Young Fellows members Mark Bratrud, left, and Mark Missal as they selected the perfect tree for their home.

The Young Fellows lot has balsam fir and Fraser fir trees, ranging in size from four feet up to 12 feet.

The tree lot is one of the Young Fellows’ biggest fundraisers of the year, and it will be open until Sunday, Dec. 22, as long as their stock of fresh trees lasts.

Prices for balsam firs range from $40 for a four to five-foot tree, up to $120 for a 10-12-ft. tree, while for Fraser firs, the price ranges from $65 for a 5-6-ft. tree to $150 for a 10-12-ft. tree.

The lot is open on weekdays from noon to 8:30 p.m., 10-8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.

All funds raised by the Young Fellows Club stays in Weyburn, and is used to support projects and community organizations that benefit the residents of the area.
