Residents in the Weyburn and surrounding area have been enjoying River Park Sparkles festive atmosphere and this has generated a significant amount of traffic through River Park.

There have been concerns brought up from the public regarding the safety of individuals who are walking through the displays during the designated walking days, which is Monday to Thursday.

Due to the large number of vehicles driving through the park on the designated walking days, the City of Weyburn and Weyburn Tourism have made the decision to limit the inside loop to walking only.

“Public Safety is the number priority of the City of Weyburn and Weyburn Tourism,” said Twila Walkeden of Weyburn Tourism. “Barricades are in place to inform the public there is no driving permitted on the inside loop.”

Driving is only permitted on the outside loop and parking is available in the lot on the north side of River Park and along Confederation Drive.

The City of Weyburn and Weyburn Tourism would like to thank the public for the cooperation and understanding during this change.
