Drive-by parade to promote we are ‘Better Together’ in Weyburn

A drive-by parade will be held for all of the staff and families of St. Michael School and the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division on Tuesday, March 9.

A drive-by parade will be held for all of the staff and families of St. Michael School and the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division on Tuesday, March 9. The theme for the parade is “We are Better Together”, which coincides with a campaign involving the St. Michael SRC promoting good mental health using the T-shirts from the Weyburn Better Together organization (as shown in the photos above). The drive-by parade will be held at two locations, at St. Michael School on 13th Street, and at Dominic Place (the former St. Dominic Savio School), where the Holy Family School Division office is located, on Fourth Street.

The parade will begin at 3 p.m., and all school families are invited to attend to give a smile and a wave as the parade drives by.

In the photos above, Grade 9 students at St. Michael School gathered wearing their “Better Together” T-shirts, part of the “Better Together” initiative they are leading at the school in support of mental health.

The SRC, along with some funds from the Holy Family division office, purchased these shirts, and students at the school are able to nominate those who are helping to make their school or community better in some way.

The SRC will pick names from the nominations received and award the nominee with one of these shirts. This will be held every Tuesday during the month of March, and in total 60 students will receive a shirt.
