Four local youth will help promote the 2019 Communithon as Community Ambassadors. Jessica Dixon, Kelsi Shipley, Arianna Russell and Trisha Mariveles are excited about the opportunity to promote Communithon during the next few weeks. All four Community Ambassadors are Grade 12 students from the Weyburn Comp.
Jessica Dixon is 17 years and is involved in the school choir and the extracurricular choir. Outside of school, Jessica is an assistant dance teacher at De Tricky Feet dance studio and competes in a wide variety of dances. Jessica is a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church worship band and volunteers as Eddie the Eagle.
Kelsi Shipley is 18 years old and is the treasurer for the SRC, is involved in the school choir, and volunteers as Eddie the Eagle, the school mascot at the Comp. Kelsi teaches piano, educating younger youth in the community.
Arianna Russell is 17 and is involved in yearbook club at the Weyburn Comp. She also works part-time at Pharmasave Weyburn and PetValu.
Trisha Mariveles is 17 and is involved in the Grade 12 choir, as well as the extra-curriculum choir at the Comp. Trisha is also involved in the Comp school hip-hop and pom team. She works with the Weyburn Group Homes.
As the time gets closer to Communithon, any local business or community group that has a fundraiser for this year’s Communithon is encouraged to contact the committee.
The committee will support fundraising events with the following:
• It will be added to the Events Calendar online at www.communithon.com.
• The Communithon Ambassadors can attend and assist in the event.
• The Communithon banner can be raised at the fundraising event, which promotes local community agencies and the date of Communithon.

This year, Communithon will be hosted at the Weyburn Royal Canadian Legion on Friday, October 25. During community consultations, there were many who wanted Communithon to return to its roots at the Weyburn Legion, and organizers are happy to be back in the downtown core for the annual fundraiser.
The 2019 community agencies are: Big Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Red Cross, Community Low Income Centre, CNIB Foundation, Envision Counselling and Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, Weyburn Care-a-Van, Weyburn Special Care Home Auxiliary and the Weyburn Youth Center.
