A fundraising dinner and evening of entertainment will be held to help out the family of Ensley Akins of Weyburn, as she receives treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma, which is a form of bone cancer.

The evening will be held on Saturday, July 28 at the Weyburn Legion Hall, with cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., and entertainment will follow by The 7th Avenue.

Ensley, 19, is the daughter of Shenan and Luanne Akins and sister of Abby (shown in the photo above) and she has already been receiving treatment for her cancer, including chemotherapy.

She graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive last year, and was well known to many residents for her singing, performing with the STARS Show Choir and in the school musicals.

The fundraiser evening is to help the family out with the medical expenses, and the costs of travel and accommodations as Ensley goes for treatments over the next year.

Tickets cost $25 a person, and are available at Pharmasave Weyburn, or by calling Kari at 306-861-1460, Rhonda at 306-861-1436, Natasha at 306-891-8959, or Angie at 306-861-0016.

In addition to the supper and entertainment, there will be silent auction items for people to bid on.
