Weyburn's new elementary school, shown under construction on Wednesday, will officially be named "Legacy Park Elementary", the winning name from the contest held by the Southeast Cornerstone School Division. The school board received 80 submissions for a new name, and a committee that included the administrators of the three elementary schools that will be a part of the new school went through the names and decided on Legacy Park, to reflect the legacy of the three schools, and to reflect the school being adjacent to Jubilee Park. The school board of trustees approved the new name at their board meeting on Wednesday, the last meeting before breaking for the summer.
