Weyburn’s newly-formed Lions Club will be holding a fundraiser pancake breakfast for their first project on Sunday, Aug. 25 at River Park.

The breakfast will be held at the gazebo in River Park from 8 a.m. to noon, and will raise money to go towards a fully-accessible playground at St. Michael School.

The breakfast will feature pancakes and sausages, and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

The new Lions Club will be officially chartered with Lions International on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Legion Hall. The president is Yvonne Jones, with Kevin Livingstone as treasurer and Jody Holzmiller as the secretary.

Other projects underway include working with the City of Weyburn to adopt a trail, a part of the Red Coat Trail located behind the Wholesale Club.

The club will also be doing a fundraiser project selling homemade perogies and cabbage rolls. The details for this project will be released at a later date.
