Pangman dancers perform at year-end dance recital

Opening the show was the preschool dancers Callie Anderson and Hannah Kessler. Next was the tap combo of Hailey Hatt, Madison Brice, Skylar White, Rebecca Gurskey and Alyscia Ferozdin.

Then were the intermediate hip hop group of Jacey Rowland, Lexy Tessier, Riana Svedahl, Natalie Lillejord, Anna Freisen, Tanner Rowland, Zye Ferozdin and Layne Lillejord. Next was the senior dance group of Christie Jesse, Hayley Kimball, Ocean Larson, Payton Nyhus, Nikita Ruiz Reyes and Hayley Lillejord. Following was the pre-school tap of Hannah Kessler and Callie Anderson.

Natalie Lillejord performed a lyrical solo. Then the ballet combo of Hailey Hat, Madison Brie, Skylar White, Rebecca Gursky and Alyscia Ferozdin danced. Christie Jesse did a lyrical solo, and Hayley Lillejord did a lyrical solo.

In the second part of the program, the intermediate jazz group of Lexy Tessier, Anna Friesen, Jacey Rowland, Natalie Lillejord and Riane Svedahl started the performances. Next was the senior lyrical group of Nikita Ruiz Reyes, Hayley Lillejord, Hayley Kimball, Ocean Larson and Christie Jesse.

This was followed by the jazz combo of Madison Brice, Alyscia Ferozdin, Hayley Hatt, Skylar White and Rebecca Gurskey. Next was the jazz duo of Natalie Lillejord and Jacey Rowland.

Next was the lyrical duo of Hayley Kimball and Christie Jesse, and the intermediate lyrical group of Riana Svedahl, Natalie Lillejord and Lacey Rowland.

Next was the senior hip hop group of Payton Nyhus, Ocean Larson, Christie Jesse, Hayley Lillejord and Hayley Kimball. Next, guest dancer Haley Fink performed, and then the last group was the senior tap of Christie Jesse, Hayley Kimball and Hayley Lillejord.

A 65th celebration was held for Boyd Kessler at the Parry bowling alley on Apr. 6, with many attending. Guests bowled during the evening.

Barrie and Bonnie Probe and their granddaughter Audrey from Regina motored to Pangman on Apr. 7 to attend the Pangman Dance Club recital. They also visited with Robin and Charlie Larson and Drayton and Ocean. They spent the evening visiting with Debbie and Tom Kessler and Stewart.

Ken and Joyce Kaufmann went to Texas for three months this winter with their motor home, to see how the snowbirds in Texas were doing. They arrived home mid-March, thinking they'd probably missed the worst part of winter and snow to see the run-off instead, but found out they were wrong.

Luckily while in Texas they missed the snow storms and cold weather that hit the central states. They camped at San Angelo for a month, right beside the Colorado River, southwest of Abilene. Next they went to a small island just north of Corpus Christi for another month, called Port Arkansas along the Gulf of Mexico. Their last month was spent at Rockport just a little further north on the Gulf. Texas has such different terrains from cactus, sage brush to durum to cotton fields and corn.

Visiting recently with Cecil and Marguerite Guest was their daughter Cathy and Michael from B.C. While here, they helped their parents move into Sunnyview Place.

A Day of Pink was held on April 10, and all the staff and 19 out of 21 residents at Sunnyview Place wore pink. The Day of Pink promotes taking a stand against bullying.

Doris Sambrook and George David were the residents that won the March walk-a-thon at Sunnyview Place.

George Sheppard, age 93, formerly from Pangman and resident at the Veterans ward at the Wascana Rehab Centre in Regina, passed away on Apr. 5. Funeral service will be held in June.

Visiting John and Debbie Sheppard from Apr. 4 to 11 was their son Jason and Jen Sheppard and Regain and Avery from Porcupine Plain, and their other son Joel Sheppard from Dryden, Ont.

The Pangman School, in cooperation with the Sun Country Health Region, will host a Brain Walk on Monday, Apr. 29. This is a project of the Acquired Brain Injury Partnership. Students will learn brain injury prevention, how alcohol and drugs affect the brain, and what difficulties a person might experience after brain injury.

The Southeast Cornerstone Public School Division will have their employee recognition night on May 27. Iris Warren and Sabrina Quigley will be honoured for their years of service.

The Pangman students are invited to attend the Saskatchewan in motion provincial youth symposium on May 3 and 4, at the Dallas Valley Camp near Regina. More information to follow.

Eight residents from Sunnyview Place played 10 frames and participated in the weekly bean bag tournament on Apr. 11. Effie Devine placed first with a score of 59 points, Vi Kessler won second with 56 points and Doris Sambrook finished third with 54 points. George David scored 28 points for the men.

Seven residents from Sunnyview Place played 10 frames in their weekly bowling tournament on Apr. 10. Effie Devine won first with 101 points, Ada Murray placed second with 89 points and Mary Martin finished third with 86 points. George David scored 88 points for the men.

There was a Ladies Night Out held at the school gym on Apr. 11. Many door prizes were given out. The Pangman Ambulance EMS personnel did a demonstration using their special equipment. The proceeds went towards the purchase of a new ambulance.

Debbie and Tom Kessler motored to Regina on Apr. 9 and visited with Barrie and Bonnie Probe.
