Pangman museum, thrift shop now open

Pangman — The Pangman Museum will be open to the public on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. and again on Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. New items are coming in for the thrift shop every day.

The Khedive Heritage Hall will be holding a family movie night on Saturday, Feb. 29, featuring the children’s movie at 6 p.m. and Leap Year at 8:30 p.m. Admission for the whole evening is $5 each or $10 for a family. There will be popcorn, candy, coffee and pop available for a nominal fee. Bring your comfortable lawn chairs. For more information please contact Marnie Bernard or Gail Howse.

The Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a Full Meal Deal of chili/soup, bun, coffee and pie at the Community Centre on Wednesday, March 11, from 11 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.

Some residents of the Deep South Personal Care home participated in the bowling tournament on Feb. 20, with Twyla Boldt coming in first place with her score of 94 points. Ruby Gosling took second place with 91 points and Betty Hildebaugh brought home third place with her score of 88 points.

In the afternoon some residents participated in the High Roller tournament with Joyce Hval bringing home first place with her score of 260 points. Addie Johnson came in second with her score of 205 points and Twyla Boldt placed third with her score of 185 points.

Word was received on Feb. 16 of the passing of John Ambrose Schiller, age 82, late of Weyburn. John married Lois Morrow of Amulet and farmed near Trossachs raising their sons before retiring in Weyburn. A come-and-go social will be held at the Captain’s Hall on Saturday, March 14, from 1-4 p.m. Interment will be held in the Pangman cemetery at a later date.

Art Frances from Craven spent the afternoon visiting with Debbie and Tom Kessler and Boyd Kessler on Feb. 18.
