The Weyburn Police Service, along with several members of other police agencies including Regina, Moose Jaw and the RCMP, held large CheckStops in various locations around Weyburn the evening of Dec. 14, including this location on Government Road and Railway Avenue, and later on Government Road at Prairie Avenue. The officers were checking motorists for their licence and registration, and to see if they had any alcohol to drink or used drugs. This was part of the higher visibility checks police will be doing through the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
