Xavier Cameron was held by his mom Deidra, as he held up his sign, "I'm not dangerous!", as they took part in a protest on Coteau Avenue on Wednesday evening, at the entrance to The Creeks subdivision. Around 60 residents lined both sides of the street, many with signs promoting the importance of inclusion and acceptance. One resident of The Creeks came over to have a dialogue with the protesters, and insisted the opinions expressed by Creeks residents to council did not represent her concerns at all, and she supported the proposal to have group home in their midst. At a press conference earlier that afternoon at City Hall, Mayor Marcel Roy said the city will work with Weyburn Group Homes to find a good location for a group home.
