Help create safer highways in the Weyburn and surrounding area by taking part in a Government of Saskatchewan online public engagement survey.
The Ministry of Highways is working on upgrades to Highway 39 to improve safety and increase capacity. Further improvements, including sections of highway twinning and improvements to the Hwy 13 and 39 intersection are in the planning phase and the province wants to hear from the public.
Visit www.highway39.ca and review the proposed information for the improvements between March 15 and 28, 2021. This virtual information session will focus on planning of improvements north of Weyburn and at the junction of Highways 13 and 39.
The scope of the Hwy. 6/39 Corridor Improvement Initiative includes the following:
• Extending the twinning on Highway 6 south of Regina;
• Twinning the Highway 6/39 corridor through Corinne;
• Extending the existing twinning northwest of Weyburn; and
• Evaluating safety improvements for the Junction of Highways 13 and 39.

To improve traffic flow and safety on the Hwy 39 corridor, the Ministry is proposing extending the existing twinning North of Weyburn, changes to nearby range road access and service road realignment.
• Highways 13 and 39
To reduce risk and increase level of service, intersection realignment options are being considered such as the installation of traffic signals, realignment of access points, u-turn crossovers or a roundabout.
