Ophelia Keefe and Alydia Hovanak sold puffed wheat cakes and koolaid drinks to raise money for the Weyburn Humane Society, and greeted people with the cry, "50 cents to save a life!". Both girls love animals, and after taking a stray kitten to the animal shelter, wanted to give them some help, so they set up their stand in front of Elks Park on Douglas Road, with the warm summer day encouraging people to stop by for a treat and a drink.
