Wednesday

The second half of the historic McLeod Series of basketball between the Weyburn Comp and Estevan takes place in Weyburn at the Eagle gym, with the girls hitting the court at 5:30 p.m., and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Community Futures Sunrise will host speaker Doug Griffiths in a session at the Travelodge, starting at 6:30 p.m., on the topic, “13 Ways to Kill Your Community”.

The Yellow Grass Library will hold a Junior Chef class for children from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

 

Thursday

The Weyburn Humane Society will hold a fundraiser bake sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Expressions downtown in the Metro Centre.

The Weyburn Public Library will hold an adult craft class, with sessions set for 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

Friday

The Co-op Kids Club will hold a Valentine’s party for children from 3-5 p.m. in the food store near the pharmacy entrance, where children can hand-make Valentine’s cards to be distributed to seniors at Tatagwa View and the Wheatland Seniors Centre.

 

Saturday-Sunday

A family fun Valentine’s party will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with games, crafts and lunch.

A Valentine’s tea will be held at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Saturday fro 2-4 p.m., featuring strawberry shortcake, coffee and tea. The cost is $5 per person.

 

Monday (Family Day)

The City’s Youth Council will host a family skating party from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the outdoor skating rink in downtown Weyburn, at the corner of Second Street and Souris Avenue, as a fundraiser for Weyburn KidSport. The Red Wings will be on hand, and there will be hot dogs and hot chocolate available.

 

Tuesday

The Weyburn Public Library will have two sessions of an adult cooking class, at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., making Chinese dumpling soup. Call to register as spaces are limited.
