Threshing and baling harvested grain the old-fashioned way

Crowds gathered to watch a live threshing demonstration to show how the harvest was done in this area a century ago, with a Case threshing machine from the 1920s in the background threshing the sheaves of grain, and then from the gathered-up straw the baler in the foreground produced square bales, with both implements powered by a belt hooked onto a tractor. This was a featured part of the 52nd annual Pioneer Echoes event on Saturday at the Midale fair grounds. The annual event also had an antique tractor parade, food booth, bouncy houses, a slowpitch tournament, and Midale Rodeo events from Friday to Sunday.
