Tragic death of 19-year-old Oxbow male

A tragic accident has struck the lives of several Southeast Saskatchewan teenagers. On May 29 at 12:35 a.m.the RCMP in Carnduff received acomplaint ofa 19-year-old male being struck by a vehicle in the Village of Alameda.

A tragic accident has struck the lives of several Southeast Saskatchewan teenagers.

On May 29 at 12:35 a.m.the RCMP in Carnduff received acomplaint ofa 19-year-old male being struck by a vehicle in the Village of Alameda. RCMP members attended the scene and conducted an investigation which revealed that the 19-year-old Oxbow malewas one of several passengers in a converted school bus being operated within the Village of Alameda when he fell out of the vehicle.

The injured male was taken by ambulance to hospital in Oxbow where he later died from his injuries.The driver of the bus, 18-year-old Mitchell Grimes of Lampman has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and is to appear in Carnduff Provincial Court on July 7.

The RCMP Traffic Analyst and the Carnduff Detachment are continuing to investigate the accident.The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
