‘Walk to Cure Diabetes’ raises $24,000 in Weyburn

The ribbon was cut by Holden Kopec, centre, to help kick off the ninth annual “Walk to Cure Diabetes” held on Sunday afternoon at the City Centre Mall, in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The group of participants included the entire Red Wings hockey team, and the event included a bouncy house, face-painting, entertainment by singer Karissa Hoffart and a silent auction. The event raised a total of $24,000 from pledges and business donations, beating last year's total of $21,000.
