The participants in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 10th annual walk made their way north from the City Centrel Mall up Second Street up to the water station at the Weyburn General Hospital on Sunday, before returning back through the downtown and ending back at the mall. The walk raised a total of $11,000 for the JDRF, which supports diabetes research and also support programs and equipment for those who live with Type 1 diabetes. The walk included the entire Weyburn Red Wings hockey team and coach Wes Rudy, Mayor Marcel Roy, and many friends and family of those living with Type 1 diabetes.
