The Communithon is fast approaching and many committees are meeting and planning for the event, which will be held on Friday, October 23. (Past performer Onello Bahingawan is shown on the Communithon stage.) With only three months remaining, the Communithon committee will be selling a 50/50 raffle.

There are many people volunteering behind the scenes to make this year’s event a success, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Who would not like to take home some cash? It is as simple as buying a 50/50 ticket from any of the 11 Community Agencies that have been accepted for funding during the 2020 Communithon.

As typical with a 50/50, half of the winnings goes to the winner, and the other half goes back to the Communithon. Tickets are three for $10, and in case that all tickets are sold, the winner could possibly take home $2,500. The draw date for the 50/50 will be Friday, October 23.

Representatives from the following 11 Community Agencies have 50/50 tickets that they are selling: Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Red Cross, Community Low Income Centre, CNIB Foundation, Envision Counselling and Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, Weyburn Care-a-Van, Weyburn Special Care Home Auxiliary, and Weyburn Youth Centre.

The goal of the Communithon committee is to continue to plan for the 2020 Communithon, which will be tentatively held at the Weyburn Royal Canadian Legion on Friday, October 23.

The Communithon committee is dedicated to ensuring that our community agencies receive the funding and support they require, so that they can provide necessary programming and services to residents in the Weyburn area. The organization will be following the Saskatchewan protocol for keeping everyone safe during COVID-19 restrictions.
