The Communithon committee is seeking volunteers for their 2020 event, and will have an open meeting at the Weyburn Credit Union on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m.

During the meeting, the committee will review debriefing notes on the 2019 Communithon held in October, set a date for the 2020 Communithon, and provide an allocation total for what the community agencies will receive for their programs and services from the proceeds raised at Communithon.

The Communithon committee would like to hear from the public about what they liked at the 2019 Communithon event, and what things will need work.

Last year, the annual fundraiser returned to their roots as it moved back to the Weyburn Legion Hall downtown.

There is an open invitation for any new non-profit organizations that want to seek funding from the Communithon event to attend this meeting. The criteria for Communithon agencies will be discussed, and the decision on what community agencies will be funded by the 2020 Communithon will be made by May 1.

Sub-committees for the 2020 Communithon will also be established, including community ambassadors, entertainment, communication strategy, business partnerships, community agencies, volunteers, staging/facility, finance, decoration, 50-50 raffle, and food and refreshments.

Watch the Communithon Facebook page and website for more information updates about the 2020 Communithon.
