Tana Torkelson of the Weyburn Credit Union presented a donation of $7,000 to Crystal Elliot, teacher’s assistant, and teacher Jackie Spence of the Weyburn Co-operative Playschool, as the playschool held a grand reopening evening on Tuesday, marking their 40th anniversary as an organization.

The funds were used to do renovations and upgrades to the playschool facilities, including installing a sink and cabinets and renovating the washrooms.

Ken and Kathy Helfrick, and their son David, gathered with teacher Jackie Spence at the Weyburn Co-operative Playschool during the grand reopening ceremonies.

The Helfricks own and operate Elite Kitchens, and they helped the playschool out with the installation of new cabinets along with a sink in the playschool room, located in the basement of Calvary Baptist Church.

There was a special cake that was served to the children and families who were present for the special evenig.
