The first place winner, Curtis LeBlanc from Estevan, was not present.

The Golf Ball Drop was a joint project of the Weyburn and Estevan Rotary Clubs, with the location of the drop alternating each year. The drop was held in Weyburn this year on Sept. 21, with a total of 8,250 golf balls dropped from a bucket suspended by a crane above the hole.

Once expenses were paid and the $9,000 in prizes disbursed, and the proceeds were divided, each club received $15,686, and once the rebate from the Sask. Liquor and Gaming Authority is received, the club will have received $19,616 from this fundraiser.

Of this amount, the Weyburn Rotary Club will donate $8,000 to the STARS Air Ambulance, which will be presented to STARS on Oct. 17.
