The Weyburn Young Fellows Club made two donations on Monday afternoon at their Christmas tree lot, which just opened on Sunday.

The donations included $2,500 to the Souris School’s breakfast program.

Logan Ashworth, a student at Souris School, and Shannon Seitz, program coordinator at Souris, accepted the donation from the Young Fellows members, including Chad Ror, Preston Roy, Kurtis Schwindt and club president Rob Stephanson Jr.

The Young Fellows then presented a donation of $2,000 to the Salvation Army for their food bank. Reynard, community ministries coordinator for the Salvation Army, accepted the donation, which will be used to fill their needs for helping out families at Christmas time.

The Young Fellows’ Christmas tree lot is open on Second Street, behind the Co-op food store, and is the club’s largest fundraiser, aside from their annual online auction. The lot will be open until Sunday, Dec. 20.
