The TD Summer Reading Club wound up a successful year at the Weyburn Public Library, and awarded prizes to the top three readers in their age categories.

The winner in the three-to-five year old category was Finley Penner, who read 160 books; in the six-to-eight category, the winner was Declan Klippenstine, who read 370 books; and in the nine-to-12 category, Mofe Adediji won for reading 130 books.

Klippenstine was also the grand prize winner overall, and he won a bike donated by Canadian Tire.

There were 228 children in the summer reading club, with 174 registered in the weekly fun activities that were held throughout the summer for children aged three to 12.

The reading club ran from July 2 to Aug. 23, and the children were given a booklet to keep track of their reading.

For every 10 books they read, they could redeem a coupon or get a prize from businesses in the community, and enter their name in the grand prize draw. The children could use up to four coupons, after which they were encouraged to keep on reading and enter their names for the grand prize for every 10 books.
