City police investigate another collision with a pedestrian

Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the 100 block of Sims Avenue on Thursday. A male was transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A female driver has been charged with driving with undue care and attention.

Weyburn police received a report of a near-miss with a vehicle and pedestrian at a downtown crosswalk on Monday. Police ask residents to see their Facebook and Twitter feeds for more details on how you can avoid a near-miss, or worse.

City police received a report of a break-and-enter to an abandoned commercial premises on June 25. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police received a report of a theft of a bicycle from the Cugnet Centre on Friday. The bike is described as a blue BMX with “We The People” on it.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 25. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was issued a three-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was also impounded.

Weyburn police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 26. As a result of the stop, police determined the vehicle had been stolen from Maple Creek. The driver was taken into custody without incident and is now facing numerous criminal charges.

 City police issued a ticket for possessing cannabis in a public place on Thursday.

Police received a report on Friday that a driver had been involved in a collision with a fixed object in the downtown core but failed to deal with the collision. The suspect driver was located and arrested without incident. He was later released and issued a ticket for failing to report property damage to the owner.

While on patrol on Saturday, a member of the Weyburn police observed a person laying in a driveway. Upon investigating the person was found to be suffering from a medical issue. EMS was dispatched and the person was transported to the hospital.

City police received a complaint of a possible impaired person operating a medi-scooter on Saturday. The person was located and was determined not to be impaired. The driving action was due to a malfunction in the vehicle’s steering mechanism. 

Weyburn police received information on Saturday regarding trafficking in prescription medication. The matter is under investigation.

Weyburn police received a request to assist in locating an individual threatening self-harm on Saturday. The person was located and transported to the hospital for assessment.

City police conducted a compliance check on an individual released on court-ordered conditions on Sunday. The person was not located at their residence, and charges have been laid. 

Weyburn police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Sunday. The driver was found to be a suspended driver pending court action on an impending impaired driving charge.

Police received a report of a minor domestic dispute on Sunday. Once police attended, the matter was resolved for the night.

Weyburn police received a report of people acting in an erratic manner on Saturday. The people were located and the matter was dealt with by the police.

While attending to an unrelated matter on Monday, the Weyburn police became aware of an individual who had numerous outstanding arrest warrants from the Estevan RCMP. The person was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the RCMP.

City police received a report of an assault that had just occurred on Monday. At this time, one male is in custody. There is no public safety issue as the offender and victim are known to each other. The matter is still under investigation.
