City police investigate break-and-enters, thefts

Weyburn police responded to a break-and-enter to a business in the 400 block of Government Road on June 12. The business had been entered and cash and other items stolen. As a result of video camera evidence, police were able to identify the suspect who was arrested and charged with break and enter and theft, as well as mischief. The 22-year-old male was remanded and appeared in court at a later date.

City police responded to a call of a break-and-enter in progress at a residence on Thursday. Police located and arrested a 42-year-old male in the residence. As a result of the investigation, the individual was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and assault. The male was later released for court at a later date.

Police received a report of a theft of a Traeger barbecue from the backyard of a residence on 14th Street on June 10. The incident remains under investigation.

City police received a report of a break-and-enter and theft from a shed on June 10. Stolen were tools and a bow case containing bow and arrows. The incident remains under investigation.

Police received a complaint of a theft from a vehicle on June 12. The vehicle had been parked but left unlocked. Stolen were sunglasses and other items. The incident remains under investigation.

Weyburn police received a complaint of a male exposing himself on Thursday. The investigation resulted in a 32-year-old male being charged with an indecent act and will appear in court at a later date.

The Weyburn Police Service conducted a curfew check on June 10 and found that the individual who was out on a conditional sentence order was not at home. As a result, the 26-year-old female was later arrested and charged with breach. She was remanded for court at a later date.

City police responded to a call of two men fighting in the area of Highway 39 and Government Road on Saturday. Police located two intoxicated males and determined there had been an argument but no assault had occurred. The situation was mediated with no charges laid.

The Weyburn Police Service conducted a child car seat clinic at the Weyburn Police Service station on June 10. During the clinic, 10 car seats were inspected and the owners given advice as to how to attach the car seat to ensure their child is restrained properly.
