Police investigate B&E to a city church

The Weyburn Police Service received a call of a break-and-enter to a local church on Monday. Nothing was reported stolen, though an office door received damage. The incident remains under investigation.

The Weyburn Police Service received a call of a break-and-enter to a local church on Monday. Nothing was reported stolen, though an office door received damage. The incident remains under investigation.
• The Weyburn police received a complaint of a fraud on April 10. The victim had some of their personal identification stolen, and it appears the suspects were able to use that identification to remove some funds from the victim’s account. The matter remains under investigation.
• Members of the city police conducted a traffic stop on April 8, and the police member noticed a strong smell of marijuana. As a result of the investigation, the two occupants of the car, a 38-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, were charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams. Both were released from custody on a promise to appear for court in June.
• Members of the Weyburn police attended to a domestic between a father and a son on Wednesday. Police were able to speak to those involved and were able to calm the situation. No charges were laid.
• Members of the city police conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, due to driving actions. The 29-year-old male driver blew a fail on the roadside test, and the resulting investigation resulted in the driver receiving a three-day suspension, and the vehicle was impounded. No criminal charges were laid.
• The city police attended to a local resident for a domestic disturbance complaint on Saturday. It was reported that one of the family members had become aggressive towards others in the house.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old  male was arrested for breach of the peace and was lodged in cells until sober. No criminal charges were laid in this incident.
