Police investigate motor vehicle accidents

City police received simultaneous reports of a vehicle collision on Government Road at First Avenue N. One vehicle was not drivable and was towed from the scene. The driver of one of the vehicles was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield when making a left turn.

Police received a report of a vehicle collision on Third Street South on Jan. 4. As a result of the investigation, a male was taken into custody without incident and was processed for drug-impaired driving by a Drug Recognition Expert. He will be making an eventual court appearance.

Weyburn police received a report on Jan. 4 of a residential break-and-enter over the Christmas vacation period. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police received a complaint regarding people fighting in a local bar on New Year’s Day. Upon attending and learning the identities of those involved, a male was taken into custody because he was on court conditions not to consume alcohol. He was later released from custody with an upcoming court date in Weyburn.

City police received a report of a family dispute matter where threats were uttered from one family member to another on Jan. 3. The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody without incident and was remanded for court in Regina.

Weyburn police received a request to conduct a well-being check on an individual who was going through some personal difficulty on Jan. 3. The person was located and found to be all right.

City police received a report of a person who had been victimized by an on-line romance scam on Jan. 5. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police received a 911 call on Jan. 5. In dealing with the call they encountered the individual who was determined to be highly intoxicated. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and held in cells until sober.
