Weyburn police investigates incident of road rage in city

While on patrol on Saturday, a member of the Weyburn Police Service observed a 41-year-old male individual who he believed was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the male arrested. He was later released to appear on court on the outstanding matters.
The city police were called to a residence regarding an altercation between two male roommates on Sunday. As the result of the incident one of the roommates decided to move out of the residence and was provided some assistance by the police.
City police received a report on Wednesday regarding a 24-year-old male person who wanted to harm himself. The individual was located and agreed to be transported to the local hospital.
Police received a report of a suspected domestic disturbance on Thursday. The police were able to locate the individuals, including a 41-year-old male and a 33-year-old female. The matter was mediated by police at the time.
The Weyburn police received a report of a 51-year-old male who was in violation of a “no contact” provision on Thursday.
The male was taken into custody and is now facing additional charges of breaching a recognizance. He will be making a future court appearance.
City police received numerous 911 calls regarding a domestic assault in progress at about 2:05 p.m. on Friday. As a result of the investigation a 40-year-old male has been charged with assaulting a 16-year-old family member. In a related turn of events a 16-year-old male youth has been charged with mischief for smashing out a tail light of a vehicle at the scene.
Police responded to a report of a vehicle collision at the corner of Coteau Avenue and First Street on Friday.
No one was injured in the incident. The 88-year-old female driver of one of the vehicles was issued a traffic ticket for leaving the stop sign before it was safe to do so.
The Weyburn police are investigating a report of an assault having occurred at a local bar on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in Oxbow, around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Carnduff RCMP received a request for a wellness check on a 25-year-old male residing on the 700 block of Walsh Avenue. The complainant was concerned for the well-being of the male.
The investigation revealed that the individual had a warrant for failure to appear in court in Carlyle on Jan. 13, 2016. The court appearance was to face one charge of theft under $5,000, stemming from an investigation in October, 2015.
Investigators received information that possible explosives or firearms may be located at the residence. As a precaution and based on the information that was received, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, RCMP Police Dog Service from Yorkton and the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit attended to assist Carnduff and Carlyle RCMP.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the male was taken into police custody without incident.
Kassidy Terry Michael Bonnor, 25, of Oxbow, appeared in Estevan Provincial Court on Tuesday morning to face one count of failing to attend court when at large on an undertaking. No additional charges have been laid and no explosives or firearms were located in or outside the residence.
Carlyle RCMP received a complaint of a sudden death on the Whitebear First Nation on Saturday.
A 16-year-old female from the Whitebear First Nation was located deceased outside in a grassy area, approximately 25 yards from a residence on the Whitebear First Nation. Her death is not believed to be suspicious in nature and her name will not be released.
An autopsy has been ordered, but the date and time have not been confirmed. Carlyle RCMP continues to investigate.
