Weyburn police respond to two collisions

The Weyburn police, Weyburn EMS and the Weyburn Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Second Street at Coteau Avenue on Friday.

The Weyburn police, Weyburn EMS and the Weyburn Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Second Street at Coteau Avenue on Friday. The female passenger of the westbound vehicle was transported to the Weyburn General Hospital by EMS with minor injuries.

The investigation showed that a vehicle travelling north on Second Street stopped at the four-way stop then proceeded. A vehicle travelling west on Coteau Avenue failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the other vehicle. The driver of the westbound vehicle was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for failing to stop at the stop sign.

The Weyburn police, Weyburn EMS and Weyburn Fire Department attended to a report of a collision of a car and a semi on Highway 39 and Third Street on April 30. The female driver of the jeep was transported to the hospital by EMS with undermined injuries. The driver of the semi-trailer unit was charged for failing to stop at a red light.

City police received information that a male with an outstanding warrant was in a residence on Friday. The male was located in the residence and arrested without incident. The male was in possession of a knife and has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He is also facing numerous charges relating to various breaches of court orders. He was remanded in court pending an upcoming appearance in Estevan Provincial Court.

Weyburn police are investigating a report of a break-and-enter of a garage on April 29. A number of tools appear to have been stolen.

Weyburn police received a report of a disturbance on April 29. Upon attending they located an adult female who was severely intoxicated. The female was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held in police cells until sober.

City police received a request to do a wellbeing check on an individual on April 29. The individual was found to be fine.

Police conducted a traffic stop on April 29, and as a result the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. There is also an indication that the driver had consumed cannabis as well as alcohol. The driver was held in cells until sober and released for an upcoming court date.

City police conducted a compliance check to a court-ordered release on April 30. The person was found to be in violation of the curfew and will be charged for breach of the order.

City police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance on Wednesday. Upon attending, the officers were unable to mediate the matter. As a result an adult male was arrested without incident for being intoxicated in a public place and held in police cells until sober.

Weyburn police received a call to a local business regarding two males who appeared to be intoxicated on Thursday. One male youth was arrested without incident and lodged in police cells until sober.

Weyburn police received a call of a suspicious male person on Friday. During the investigation, the officers attended a bar where a person who fit the description of the suspicious male was. After identifying the male it was learned that he was on court conditions not to attend or be in a bar. He was arrested and charged with breach of the order.

Weyburn police received a report of a domestic assault in progress on Saturday. The male was arrested without incident and has been charged with assault. He was released on conditions and will be making a future court appearance.
