A stalwart son has been called home. Alex Sidloski, age 93, of Weyburn, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Weyburn Special Care Home. Alex was born February 7, 1924 in Nuszcze, Poland, to Gabriel Sidloski and Maria (Frankow) Sidloski In 1929, he emigrated to Canada with his mother and younger sister, Jennie, to be reunited with Gabriel. Alex was the eldest of seven children. He primarily spent life in the vicinity of Weyburn, Saskatchewan in farm-related endeavours. He was known for his generous nature and optimistic attitude. His motto was “Take what the Good Lord gives you and make the best of it.” Alex loved his life. He loved people. He loved God. He will be missed by all. But his words of comfort to us were, “Don’t weep for me. I had my day in the sun.” . He is predeceased by his parents; wife of 55 years, Theresa (Getz) Sidloski; brothers Andrew (Peggy) Sidloski, and Roy Sidloski; sisters Jennie (Clifford) Stewart and Vera (Vic) Tremblay. Alex is survived by his seven children: LEOLA (Ron) Ilsley of Calgary, AB & their children, Amber (Jeremiah) Young & Amy; CARLA (Joe) Ralko of Regina, SK & their children, Ahren, Brandon (Haley), Jenna (Pete) Peoples, Jared, Adam & Corbin; DENIS (Bonnie) Sidloski of Weyburn, SK & their children, Kaylin (Melissa), Renée (Chris) Cugnet, Nathan, Quinn (Shelby Bendtsen) & Mary; MYRNA (Richard) MacMillan of Red Deer, AB & their children, Danna (Matt) Alexander, Jessie, Linden (Alyssa) & Dustin; JUANA Sidloski of Weyburn, SK & her children, Melayne, Schenley, Dakota (Ty Hoium), Maren & Adair; CLARA (Kevin) Olson of Medicine Hat, AB & their children, Alexa (Chris Bernier), Roger (Jessica), Aubrey, Sheldon & Kayleen; MARIS Sidloski of Tokyo, Japan; 11 great grandchildren; brother John (Beatrice) Sidloski; sister, Tory (Ron) Metheral; sister-in-law, Rita Sidloski as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayers were said on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Both services were held from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Father Francis Plaparampil celebrating. Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Pallbearers were Brandon Ralko, Kaylin Sidloski, Nathan Sidloski, Quinn Sidloski, Schenley Borys and Sheldon Olson.
