Dale Wallin, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away peacefully with family at his side September 30, 2017, at the age of 73 years. Dale was predeceased by his parents: Orville and Mabel Wallin; his grandson Matthew; brother Larry; his in-laws: Leo and Jean Jones and several aunts, uncles and a niece. Dale is survived by his wife, Marlene of  Weyburn; his children: Kim (Jennifer) Wallin, Edmonton, AB and their family [Joshua and Zachary], Greg (Joyce) Wallin, Macoun, SK and their family, [Dillon (Iris), Jayde and Hailey], brothers: Randy (Louise) Wallin, Yellow Grass and family: Corey (Tamlyn) and their children: (Kaitlyn, Addyson and Braxton), Sherry (John), Kelly (Amanda) Kevin (Joedy) Wallin, Weyburn and family: Bradley (Mel), Tanner and Ciara (Mark); a niece, Debbie (Kevin) Becker and family (Shelby and Tristin); brothers and sisters-in-law: Blair (Mel) Jones, Kelowna, BC and their son Trevor, Debbie Hendriks, Wetaskiwin AB and family, Blair and Brian. Dale was born and raised in Radville. He grew up there then moved to Corrine and in Grade 7 to Yellow Grass. He ended his journey of life in Weyburn at Tatagwa View House 7. Dale worked at Conforce in Regina until he married his high school sweetheart on October 25, 2017. He then went to work at the Dominion Fruit Warehouse. In February 1964 Dale and his wife moved back to Yellow Grass to his dream job of farming for the Boren families, eventually expanding to farming his own land and raising cattle. He continued on with the Borens’ for 40 years. Dale and Marlene’s family expanded with two sons, two daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. Family was very important to him and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Dale enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Gatherings at their home was his delight. Christmas was a favourite time of year for Dale. He spent many hours (which included some under -20 degrees) hanging lights and decorating in the farm yard and in their family home in town. Dale loved animals and his dogs were always treated with the best of care. He was very active and held different offices for several years in Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Curling Club and coaching hockey. His passion for playing ball and organizing baseball and fastball lead him to playing on the all-star teams for several years. The Wallin family was recognized for playing ball for 100 years and were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Battleford, SK. A private family graveside service for Dale was held Saturday, October 7,  at 2:00 p.m. from Yellow Grass Cemetery,  with Garry Christopherson officiating. Interment followed at Yellow Grass Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance.
