Fredrick William Caine

Fredrick William Caine passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Caine; wife Marjorie Caine; in laws, William and Mary Schiller; sister, Jeanette (Stan) Frisk; brother, Mervin Caine and numerous brothers and sisters in law. Fred was born January 15, 1932 on the family homestead near Ceylon, Saskatchewan. Fred lived and grew up in Ceylon until the time that his father went to war, at which time his mother moved to Regina with him and his siblings until his father returned in 1945. Following his father’s return the entire family moved and made their permanent home in Tyvan, Saskatchewan. In his younger years, Fred worked in a gold mine but was eventually employed by the PFRA and continued there until his retirement. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. Fred’s community involvement included the cemetery committee and sitting on the Tyvan Hall board. Fred is survived by son, Gary Caine of Leoville, SK; son, Glenn (Marlene) Caine of Drayton Valley, AB; son, Gene (Donna) Caine of Red Deer, AB; son, Mark Caine of Tyvan, SK and daughter, Vicki Caine of Tyvan, SK; grandchildren, Landon Caine, Dennis (Jennifer) Caine, Codie (Kelly) Riddoch, Lance (Chelsea) Caine; Jennifer Caine (Jeremy Glover) & Kayla Caine; great grandchildren, Austin Wilton, Taylor Caine, Hailey & Colby Caine, Corissa, Kamryn, Kennedy & Kaine Riddoch, Kendal, Rachel & Jaxon Caine & Lucas Glover; sisters, Madeline Merriam of Regina, SK and Louise (Gilbert) Edmunds of Calgary, AB; brother in law, Bill (Marion) Schiller as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other  relatives and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Pastor Jody Pfeifer officiating. Interment followed at Tyvan Cemetery, Tyvan, Saskatchewan. Pallbearers were all of Fred’s grandchildren. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
