The Weyburn Comprehensive School senior Girls volleyball team hosted an Invitational Volleyball Tournament this weekend. The Weyburn Eagles had two teams in the tournament. A Senior A team and a Senior B team. The Senior B team had a rough go in the tournament and ended up placing fifth. The Senior A team had a fairly successful weekend and made it to the final against the Greenall Griffins from Balgonie. Unfortunately, the A team lost in two straight sets. Coach Chad Jeannot was still very impressed with how his team did. "Both Renee and I were very happy with how the girls performed throughout the weekend. We had a bit of a shaky start in the first match of the tournament but the girls were able to settle in and perform really well during the rest of our matches. This was a good weekend to really see what we need to continue to work on moving forward into practices over the next few weeks. We have a young and developing team, and we have already seen so much improvement in many aspects of our game during the early season. We are very excited to see where our girls are at by the time provincials rolls around in November."
