Winter Storm January 2021
An Alberta Clipper blasted much of Saskatchewan on Jan. 13-14, with winds speeds being clocked well in excess of 100 kilometres an hour.
The storm was responsible for power outages across Saskatchewan, including outages in Weyburn. In many instances, SaskPower was unable to send crews out to work on restoring power in some parts of the province due to the conditions until later Thursday, continuing into Friday.
The storm, which Environment Canada first issued an advisory for on January 12, lasted for much of the day, bringing blowing snow, and sustained winds over 60 kilometres an hour, and gusts reaching up to 80-100 km/h.
