The Beavers hit the road on Monday to begin a six-game road trip in Alberta. After a 10-hour bus ride, the Beavers took the field in Okotoks to take on the Dawgs.

The guys started off strong at the top of the first with Perez and Justin Summers finding home. A single by Tyler Scott allowed Ryan Gaab to score at the top of the fourth and Jack Barrie, to no one’s surprise, hit a home run in the top of the sixth. The Beavers seemingly had a handle on things being ahead 4-2, but the bottom of the sixth saw things quickly spiral out of control with the Dawgs scoring six runs before the end of the inning. No more runs were scored by either team and the Dawgs took the 8-4 win to start off the three-game series.

Unfortunately, Tuesday’s game wasn’t much better. By the end of the fifth inning, the Dawgs were up 4-0 and it wasn’t until Perez made some spectacular plays at the top of the sixth that the Beavers got on the board.

After being walked to first, Perez found an opportunity to steal second while Summers was at bat. A wild pitch by the Dawgs pitcher allowed him to advance to third and then a single by Summers brought Perez home. Later on in that inning, Wills found home plate with a single hit by Bravo that turned into a double because of an outfield error.

The Dawgs responded by scoring three more runs before the Beavers earned one run in the top of the eighth. With bases fully loaded, Scott hit a single to bring Drake Pilat home. An unearned run at the bottom of that inning ended the Dawgs scoring for the night, but the Beavers were able to snag one more run in the top of the ninth before the game ended with a final score of 8-4.

The Weyburn Beavers play the final game of the series tonight. After that's all said and done, the team will continue their roadtrip to Lethbridge to play another three-game series(Thursday-Saturday) against the Bulls.

Before heading out on the road, the Weyburn Beavers played a three-game home series against the Edmonton Prospects. The series started on Thursday night with the Prospects taking the first win 8-6.

Friday’s game was heavily in favour of the Beavers with a final score of 12-0, with pitcher Christian Vick flawless as he threw a no-hitter, staying in for all nine innings.

The guys hit dingers left and right with James McCallum hitting a two-man home run, Barrie hitting a three-man home run and Cory Wills hitting a two-man home run, playing in his first game as a Beaver. Other scoring runs involved Dominic Bravo hitting a single allowing Garrett Perez to come home in the bottom of the first, Perez getting an unearned run and Barrie hitting a double, giving Carson Hauk the chance to score in the bottom of the fourth, and Wills hitting a single to centre field in the bottom of the seventh which brought Gaab and Hauk home. Despite the impressive win the day before, Saturday saw the Prospects win the series walking away with a 6-5 win.
