The Weyburn Beavers have announced on their social media pages that former player, Drake Pilat, will join the 2020 coaching staff as an Assistant Coach.
"Drake grew up in Winnipeg, MB and formerly played for the Weyburn Beavers in 2018 and 2019 while attending the University of Jamestown. In Drake’s 2019 Spring season, Jamestown won the GPAC Conference Tournament as well as clinching a berth to the National Tournament for the 2nd time in two years. Drake earned 1st Team All Conference honours in his final year in Jamestown.
During his time for the Beavers, Drake had a career batting avg of .330 and set a club record for walks in 2019 (46). Drake is currently coaching and finishing his Physical Education degree at the University of Jamestown."
