Beavers hire new Head Coach

The Weyburn Beavers announced Monday morning that they have hired Corey Harrell to be the new Head Coach for the 2020 season.

The Weyburn Beavers announced Monday morning that they have hired Corey Harrell to be the new Head Coach for the 2020 season.

"Haling from Knoxville, IA, Corey spent one season at Southeastern CC before transferring to Graceland University to finish out his college playing career. While at Graceland, he broke the record for single season RBI and Career Home Runs.
Corey also stayed active by playing in a college summer league all four years of college, three in Weyburn with the Beavers and one in Pasadena, CA. While in Weyburn he was part of two teams that won the Eastern Division. After his playing days ended, he returned to Graceland to finish his BA while also being a Student Assistant for the baseball team.
After graduation Corey spent a summer as an Assistant Coach for the Nevada Griffons of the M.I.N.K. League and is now currently the Assistant Coach and Hitting Coach at Presentation College. 
Corey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and was an incredible leader both on and off the field each season he was here. Corey was a powerful hitter who has a sharp mind for the game and we are looking forward to him leading the way for the 2020 season."

Harrell's Weyburn Beavers records are second for a Single Season RBI, second in Career RBI, tied for first for Career Homeruns, second for Single Season Homeruns and is a two time East Division Champion.
