The Borderline Men’s Fastball League, minus its team from Plentywood, Mont., are playing an abbreviated season in July, with a schedule that includes a short playoff time and championship game on July 30.

The teams include the Weyburn Renegades, Ceylon Angels, Oungre, Lake Alma, Ogema and Gladmar. The Plentywood team cannot play as the Canada-U.S. border is not yet open for non-essential travel.

The second night of games was held on Thursday evening, with Weyburn hosting Ceylon at the secondary diamond at Tom Laing Park.

The Renegades came away the winners by a score of 5-4.

Lake Alma hosted Gladmar and Ogema had Oungre in town for the other two games that evening. Scores were not yet available for those matches.

The schedule will not allow for a year-end tournament, as gatherings of that size are not yet allowed, but there will be playoffs and the championship game instead.

Upcoming games are on Tuesday, July 14, with Lake Alma at Ceylon, Gladmar at Oungre and Weyburn at Ogema.

On Thursday, July 16, Lake Alma will be at Weyburn, Ogema will visit Gladmar and Oungre will be in Ceylon.

The last regular season games will be on Tuesday, July 21, with Lake Alma at Ogema, Weyburn visiting Oungre, and Ceylon will play in Gladmar.

The first playoff games are on Thursday, July 23, with the sixth place team against the third place team, and fifth place will visit fourth place.

On Tuesday, July 28, the winner of the sixth-vs-third will play the first-place team, and the winner of the fifth-vs-fourth game will visit at the second place home diamond.

The championship game will be on July 30 with the winners of the July 28 games.

All games are at 7 p.m. unless otherwise agreed upon, and players must play four league games to be eligible to play in the playoffs.
