Borderline Men’s, Ladies teams set to play ball

The Borderline Men’s Fastball League and Borderline Ladies Fastball are both raring to play ball this season, with games now underway.

The men’s league got underway with three games on Tuesday night, and will continue with games on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week until mid-July, and playoff weekend is tentatively set for Lake Alma on the weekend of July 24-25.

On June 10, Lake Alma is at Midale, Weyburn is at Ceylon and Gladmar is at Ogema, while on June 15, Ceylon is at Gladmar, Midale is at Weyburn and Ogema is at Lake Alma. On June 17, Midale is at Gladmar, Ogema is at Ceylon and Weyburn will be at Lake Alma.

All games in Weyburn will be held at Tom Laing Park, and unless otherwise noted, game times are at 7 p.m.

The ladies fastball league games are on every Sunday, and began on June 6. Results from the first night’s games saw the Weyburn White Lightning defeat Ceylon 6-2, and the Weyburn SheHawks lost to the Pangman Peaches 11-9.

The season will be short as a couple of teams will not be fielding players this year. The final day for regular games will be Sunday, July 4.

The upcoming games will see the Weyburn White Lightning hosting the Pangman Peaches, and the Odessa Country Steelers will host the Ceylon Devils, both games at 6 p.m. on June 13.

All of the Weyburn games will be played at Tom Laing Park.
