The Minnesota Vikings of the NFL announced on March.27 that they have re-signed Weyburn native, Brett Jones, for his third straight season with the team.

After playing for the New York Giants for two years, the Giants traded the offensive lineman to the Vikings in August 2018 in exchange for a 2019 seventh-round draft pick. In his first season with the Vikings, Jones played in 14 games and had three starts at center. Unfortunately, Jones was put on injured reserve and only played in two games this past season.

Over the past four seasons of playing in the NFL, Jones has played in 46 games with 17 of those being starts.

Previous to the NFL, Jones spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons in the CFL playing for the Calgary Stampeders. Jones help lead the Stamps to a Grey Cup title and earned the CFL's Most Outstanding Lineman award in 2014.
