Gold Wings fall in series against Rebels

The Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings had a home-and-home series against the Regina Rebels this weekend and both games ended heavily in favour of the Rebels. The first game was on Saturday morning in Regina and the Rebels took that game 9-0.

The Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings had a home-and-home series against the Regina Rebels this weekend and both games ended heavily in favour of the Rebels.

The first game was on Saturday morning in Regina and the Rebels took that game 9-0. Finals shots were 66-19 for the Rebels with Chloe Burt in net for the Wings. 

The two teams met up again on Sunday afternoon, but this time the Gold Wings had home ice advantage.

The Rebels were already ahead 6-0 by the time the game was in the third minute of play in the second period. Finally Lauren Demmans was able to get the Gold Wings on the board with help from Dakota Bowler and Reece Pittman.

The Rebels put up four more goals before Sydney Keddie scored on a power play opportunity with six minutes and 53 seconds left in the third period. Kira Barham was credited with the assist. 

To end off the game, the Rebels scored one more goal to make the final score 10-2.

Final shots were 47-25 for the Rebels with Burt holding on in net once again.

The Gold Wings have a two-game series in Battleford against the Sharks this coming weekend on Nov.30 and Dec.1.
