The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings earned a shutout win over the weekend, taking one of three as they hosted the Prince Albert Bears for a trio of games at Crescent Point Place.
They lost the first one as they were edged 3-2 in overtime on Friday evening, then they posted a shutout victory on Saturday with their “Toque Toss” game, winning 3-0, before reversing that on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 loss.
In Friday’s match, Gold Wings’ Sara Auchstaetter scored both of Weyburn’s goals in the third period to tie the game and send it into overtime, where Prince Albert scored 30 seconds in.
For the Toque Toss game, Sydney Keddie scored in the first period, assisted by Ally Kosteniuk, with Dakota Bowler scoring in the second, assisted by Auchstaetter, and Auchstaetter scored unassisted in the third.
Goaltender Chloe Burk was in net for all three games of this home stand, including the shutout win, facing 27 shots by Prince Albert.
