KidSport night at upcoming Red Wings game

After playing three consecutive games on the road, the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings are finally returning to Crescent Point Place for a special home game this Friday.

The second last regular season home game for the Wings will be against the La Ronge Ice Wolves and  will be in honour of KidSport and their Goals for KidSport program.

For every home-team goal scored during the regular SJHL season, the program donates $20 to KidSport (up to 1,000 goals).Trident Plumbing & Heating is giving $25 for each home goal scored during the game on Friday. To this date the Red Wings, have contributed nearly $13,000 to the local KidSport chapter through this program.

Before the game, the total dollars raised by the Weyburn Red Wings from the 2018-2019 season will be presented to KidSport Weyburn and a new SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion will be recognized. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

KidSport assists children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs.Participation in sports gives kids the opportunity to learn vital life skills such as teamwork and responsibility. It also helps build the confidence and character kids need for success in every aspect of their future.
