Lacrosse tournament to be hosted in Weyburn

The Weyburn Lacrosse Association will host the Thrashers Mayhem Tournament at Crescent Point Place and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena this coming weekend, from Friday, May 11 to Sunday, May 13, with teams visiting from Regina, Estevan and Winnipeg.

The Weyburn Lacrosse Association will host the Thrashers Mayhem Tournament at Crescent Point Place and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena this coming weekend, from Friday, May 11 to Sunday, May 13, with teams visiting from Regina, Estevan and Winnipeg.

The bantam games will start on Friday at 4 p.m. at CP Place, and will run until 10 p.m., and the peewee teams will play in the Sports Arena, with games to run 6 to 10 p.m. The games are scheduled for both rinks on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and there is no admission to the games.

Meantime, in lacrosse action last week, Weyburn’s lacrosse teams hosted some games last week at Crescent Point Place, as part of the Southern Saskatchewan Lacrosse League.

The Bantam Thrashers played on Wednesday evening, hosting the Estevan Voltz. They fell by a score of 13-1 to the visitors.

The Peewee-2 Thrashers played on Thursday evening as they hosted the Moose Jaw Mustangs.

The more experienced squad from Moose Jaw defeated the Weyburn squad by a score of 14-1.

Weyburn Lacrosse will be hosting an exhibition game tonight, May 9, at Crescent Point Place of two senior division teams, the Estevan Impact against the Moose Jaw Chiefs. The game will get underway at 8 p.m.
