Local runners take part in cross-country provincials

The SHSAA provincial cross-country championships were held in Delisle on Saturday under cool and windy conditions, with a number of participants from area schools taking part.

The SHSAA provincial cross-country championships were held in Delisle on Saturday under cool and windy conditions, with a number of participants from area schools taking part.

In the midget girls category, the following runners placed: Emma Zieglgansberger, Weyburn Comp, placed 40th; Hailey Verhelst of Radville High School placed 79th; Yvein Orpiano of Stoughton Central School came in 82nd; Kaelyn Bert of Radville finished in 91st place, and Nikita Nahbexie of Stoughton School was 100th.

In the midget boys category, Greyson Goudy of Stoughton Central School came in 46th, Hendrick Buys of Radville was 78th, Dustin McKim of Milestone was 86th, and Easton Berner of Stoughton placed 92nd.

In the junior boys category, Alejandro Olvera of the Weyburn Comp was 64th, and Connor Cherpin of Radville placed in 83rd position.

In the senior girls category, four girls from the Weyburn Comp placed: Arliss Sidloski was 35th, Alexis Vandermey came in 49th, Zoe Thompson was 99th and Lorynn Labbie was in 101st place.

For senior boys, Bradon Zieglgansberger of Midale Central School placed 40th, Jackson Goudy of Stoughton placed 61st, and Stevn Mlynarski of the Weyburn Comp came in 97th.

In school team standings, in the 1A category, Stoughton Central School placed 14th and Radville High School was 16th. In the 4A schools category, the Weyburn Comp was 16th.
