Men’s Crocus Open held at Weyburn GC

A total of 62 golfers took part in the 2018 Men’s Crocus Open on Saturday at the Weyburn Golf Course. The Men’s Horse Race champion was Chad Brock and the Senior Men’s Horse Race Champion was Murray Ballman.

A total of 62 golfers took part in the 2018 Men’s Crocus Open on Saturday at the Weyburn Golf Course.

The Men’s Horse Race champion was Chad Brock and the Senior Men’s Horse Race Champion was Murray Ballman.

In the Men’s Division, the winners in the championship flight were Carter Hilkewich in first with a score of 146 after a playoff, Marshall Bakken was second with 146, and Landon Emberley was third with 148.

In the first flight, Brett Paquin won first with a score of 160, Tyler Pollar was second with 166, and Kyle Haines placed third with 167.

In the second flight, Gord Husband won first with a score of 182, Nathan Walliser came second with 183 and Darren Hill placed third with 184.

In the Senior Men’s Open Division, in the championship flight, Brian Rittwage won first with a score of 158, Stacy Barnes came second with 162 and Brad Huebner was third with 167.

In the first flight, Mike Melanson won first with 166, Jack Jones was second with 168, and Gary Plonka came third with 177.

In the second flight, Todd Gallant was first with 184, Frank van der Breggen was second with 187, and Lawrence Campbell placed third with 191.

There are two tournaments coming up at the Weyburn Golf Course, including the member/guest tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2, and the WGC Rocked by “Lach” tournament on Saturday, Sept 29.

For the member/guest tournament, there will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The entry fee is $60 for members and $100 for non-members, with a better ball, alternate shot and Texas scramble format.

The Rocked by “Lach” event will have men’s, ladies and senior divisions, and there will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $40 for members and $65 for non-members.
